This year, for the first time, I offered cherry blossom photoshoots at Gloeilampplantsoen in Strijp S, Eindhoven. It is such a special little spot, especially during blossom season. I feel lucky to have had some beautiful souls in front of my camera, and so glad that I could create something meaningful during this short season.
Not everyone knows this, but cherry blossoms in Eindhoven only bloom for one to two weeks each year. Once they appear, you have to move quickly to catch them at their fullest. It is a small window, but such a beautiful one.
cherry blossom obsessed
My first session was a solo session with a beautiful mother and friend of mine. De Ann is completely obsessed with cherry blossoms, so it felt extra special to photograph her in this setting. I think you can see it in the photos.
I played around a bit with my camera settings and captured a soft, blurred action shot while she was running. I love how her white dress adds a slightly mysterious feeling to the image. It is definitely one of my favourites.
a couple, in love
Of course I also have to share a couples photoshoot under the Eindhoven cherry blossoms. Anja and Piet were such a joy to photograph, as always. These two are still completely in love with each other, and it shows.
This session was filled with fun and laughter. They chased each other around the tree, Piet picked Anja up and spun her around, and at one point he decided to take the lead and picked up a flower from the ground, pulled off the petals, and blew them into her face.
I always love when clients bring their own ideas into the session. It shows me a different side of who they are, and it means they feel comfortable enough to just be themselves during their photoshoot.
The photo below is one of my favourites. It has a slightly old school feel that I really love.
a 40th birthday celebration
When Marzanne messaged me to book her session, she told me she wanted to treat herself to a cherry blossom photoshoot in Eindhoven for her 40th birthday. I immediately loved the idea. There is something special about choosing to mark a moment like that in a quiet, meaningful way.

And just like that, cherry blossom season in Eindhoven has come and gone. It is always such a short window, but one that feels worth pausing for.
